Postal Prescriptions
For added convenience, if you enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope, we will mail your prescription to you directly. Please note that you should allow a minimum of 5 working days between requesting and collecting your prescription, excluding weekends and bank holidays. If items are not on your repeat list, they may take longer to be ready.
Prescription Collection
Once you've ordered your prescription, it will typically be ready for pick-up from the pharmacy 4 working days later. Remember, you will need to nominate a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. You have the flexibility to change your nominated pharmacy at any time by contacting us or completing the online form.
Urgent Requests for Medication
Please be advised that we do not accept urgent requests for medication either online or over the telephone. For such requests, kindly pick up a form from our reception and hand it back. A GP will consider your request and if necessary, generate a prescription for collection. If not, it will be ready within 4 working days.
Pharmacist Consultation
If you have any questions about your medication, your local pharmacists are well-equipped to provide answers. They can also give advice on over-the-counter medicines. For additional guidance, the NHS website provides comprehensive information on your medicine, including how it works, dosage instructions, potential side effects, and answers to frequently asked questions.
Pharmacists, as qualified healthcare professionals, can also provide advice on minor illnesses such as coughs, colds, sore throats, tummy trouble, and aches and pains. They can advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.
Find a Pharmacy using NHS Inform. Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends, and you do not need an appointment. For your privacy, most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff confidentially.
