Appointments

baby1The practice is working hard to deliver the most appropriate number of appointments throughout the week.  We will continually review the appointments system to ensure we are working towards the best service we can provide with the level of resources available to us. Patients’ thoughts and feedback on where improvements can be made will always be welcome.

Our present system delivers an open style surgery on a Monday morning.  However, rather than patients turning up on the day, we would ask that you call us in advance and our reception staff will allocate you a time slot for that morning. The reason for this ¡s to help ensure patients are not kept waiting for too long a period.

You will not be allocated to a specific GP on a Monday morning as the GPs will work their way through the list of patients waiting to be seen. It’s hoped that by doing this, the waiting times will be reduced (as a GP finishes with one patient, they will select the next patient on the list).

All of our other appointments e.g, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday are pre bookable appointments and can be reserved by contacting our reception staff. In addition to the routine appointments offered throughout the week, the GPs do also provide some Early Morning and Saturday appointments. Please speak to reception staff for details of when these surgeries are available.

Emergency Clinics

We also provide emergency clinics on a daily basis. These clinics are for patients that have an urgent condition which they feel is a medical emergency, and should not be used for a routine illness e.g. coughs and colds, sick lines & medication requests. Please contact reception if you feel that you have a condition which requires immediate attention that day.

Telephone Advice

As well as face-to-face consultations, we do provide some telephone consultations with our GPs. This type of appointment can prove very beneficial for patients and GPs e.g. if the consultation is to discuss results of a blood test or if the patient cannot attend the surgery for any reason.

Health Visitors Team

We run a "drop in" child health clinic on Tuesday mornings between 9.15am - 11.15am, Please check in at reception on your arrival.

Immunisation clinics are by appointment only.

GP/Child development clinics are by appointment only.
